The W3C pretty clearly states that a definition list can be used for
anything that adheres to the 'item/item description' concept. The fact that
they called it specifically a definition list is what leads to the confusion
of its use.

I, too, would vote for a DL.

Or, possibly, a table, though you'd loose a bit of the styling flexibility.
