I agree. I've seen it done, but I've never seen it as much of a valid
widget. As you state, the browser does this for you.
So, in that sense, I suppose we can just assume a true breadcrumb trail
is never actually used so we can use that term interchangeably. I simply
prefer the term topic-path as, to me, at least, it's more descriptive of
its actual purpose.
