Hello Malcolm,

Here's a link to a handy Web page download time test:
http://www.websiteoptimization.com/services/analyze/
It lists times ranging from a 14.4 modem to a T1 broadband connection

I know it from the Firefox extention called Web Developer Extension
http://chrispederick.com/work/webdeveloper/
Once installed you'll find it under Tools > View Speed Report

Note: The extention has loads of other lovely tools ;) I find the window
resizer and outline block level elements tools to be especially handy.
