Subject: VoiceOver navigation grouping behavior

Hi,

VoiceOver groups certain elements. For example input fields inside a fieldset with a legend.
In standard mode (OSX El Capitan > VoiceOver Utility > Tab Navigation > Grouping behavior), the user has to interact (shift + ctrl + alt + arrow down) to enter the group and arrow up to leave the group.
Could anyone tell me which elements or ARIA or other factors trigger grouping? Or point me to documentation I'm overlooking?
