The reason I asked is because I wanted to see if the advice I gave a friend was correct. He's on a free server and therefore doesn't have the ability to modify his .htaccess file.
He was using a 5 second META refresh, and I advised him to take it to "0" instead. My reasoning was that screen readers wouldn't have a chance to begin reading the page.
Unfortunately, I've not tested the accuracy of my own advice and was hoping someone had experience with this.

What you're saying about the speech browser is interesting. I have limited experience with them and did not know that they would still have announced that window.

Thank you.

I'm not exactly sure why he's moving people off the second they land (musta
missed this part)... But if he has any hopes for the search engines, this is
a no-no...

If it matters... Aside from accessibility... ;)

Hey Stephanie,

Thanks for the breathe of fresh air... we sometimes become so embroiled in
accessibility on this list that we often overlook other "tenets" of web
development. Thanks for bringing us back down to earth...

Cheers!
