Hello,

My agency will soon begin to use Contribute for remote content
management. At the same time we are testing FlashPaper as a possible
substitute for PDF's which are used sparingly.

While the original Word document was not formatted using Styles, a PDF
version of the document was successfully read by JAWS. The FlashPaper
version however, is not read at all by my 4.5 version of JAWS.

Does anyone have any suggestions or thoughts? Here is the FlashPaper
file.

Thats a good question. I asked a similar one after being at the launch
of Macromedia Studio 8 in Dublin, Ireland recently but it was relating
to the application Contribute. Here's what Andrew Kirkpatrick said about
exporting from MS Word

Does Flash Paper handle MS Docs in a similar fashion?

FlashPaper will read in JAWS - can you send me the document separately
or post a link - attachments don't seem to work on this list.

For FlashPaper info, take a look at:
http://www.macromedia.com/macromedia/accessibility/features/flashpaper/

We also offer JAWS scripts for Flashpaper to improve the reading
experience. JAWS can read FlashPaper without them, but they enhance the
reading experience, for example by adding ctrl+page up/down as keyboard
shortcuts to skip ahead or back a page.

Hope this helps,
AWK

FlashPaper is flash, and any screen reader that is capable of reading
Flash can read FlashPaper.

JAWS has difficulty with Flash when the swf is viewed in IE directly.
If you make an HTML page that references the FlashPaper and then test
with JAWS, you'll have a better experience.

The current version of JAWS is 7. Perhaps certain older versions are
not supported. This page at Macromedia seems to claim support:

I would contact Macromedia and Freedom Scientific to get an accurate
answer.
