Hi,
As of now I knew little about web accessibility and wish to know much more about it.
i wish to know the systematic process to test any web application for its accessibility.
whenever I create any web pages; I want to ensure that they are accessible
could anyone pls guide me on how to test the web application in a comprehensive manner?
are there any online certifications in web accessibility?
Thanks.
Shri

Hello Shri,

A good starting point are the resources at the W3C:
www.w3.org/WAI/eval/Overview.html

See also various articles about testing from WebAIM:
www.webaim.org/articles/ - Evaluation, Testing, and Tools section

Also, see Testing for Accessibility from the RNIB:
www.rnib.org.uk/xpedio/groups/public/documents/publicwebsite/public_testing.

And some of our own articles - www.visionaustralia.org.au/info.aspx?page=640
and tools - www.visionaustralia.org.au/ais/toolbar

Best wishes. Andrew

There are some tools and techniques to help design and test for functional
accessibility at the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign.

HTML Best Practices
http://html.cita.uiuc.edu

Mozilla/Firefox Accessibility Extension
http://firefox.cita.uiuc.edu

Functional Accessibility Evaluator
http://fae.cita.uiuc.edu

Accessible Web Publishing Wizard for Microsoft Office

Courses on web accessibility

Please let me know if these help or not,
Jon
