Hi there,

I'm currently redesigning the stephansmap.org (named after me:-)
website. This is a combination of wikipedia and (Google) maps and time
- so visitors can post stories or information about places and times.

I am adding the ability to draw in the map (or satellite images)

I thought it would be a good idea to offer the user a small colour
palette for the drawings.

Is there a set of colours that is

* compatible with the various forms of colour blindness
* suitable for map view and satellite view
* attractive

You can see the current selection of colours at step 3 of

http://stbgo.org/mapping/add_drawing?name=draw_example
(Sorry, the page is probably not valid HTML, that is being worked on;
"best viewed in Firefox")

I don't even know how much effort Google put into addressing colour
blindness, or how accessible Google Maps are out-of-the-box.

Thanks for any feedback,

Stephan

I've found this tool to be very helpful. Enjoy!
