Have any of you had experience with Microsoft's ClearType Tuner to improve screen text readability? I understand it is for LCD monitors only and I seem to remember it was only a temporary fix when it came out a few years ago-but haven't been able to find recent information. We are considering adding it to computers that will be used by senior citizens, some of whom may have low vision.

It has been several years since I played around with ClearType (CT) Tuner
but recall I didn't really think it added much. I had my monitor set to not
use CT because I thought it made things look more blurry. Then I tried it
again some time later and and it seemed to have improved. Not sure if it was
an upgrade that may have been rolled out with a SP or just my eyes; but I
think the former might be true.
I am thinking that working with low vision seniors you might want to
concentrate more on how to enlarge type and zoom, as well as setting
contrasts using custom style sheets within their web browser. Just a
thought.
