Hi,

I note that with the OS 3.1 in iPhone 3GS, Apple introduce the multi-
synthesizer and VoiceOver managed noe the checkpoints 4.1 (priority 1)
and 4.3 (priority 3) of WCAG1.0.

But I note this:
- If I have <html lang="pt"> VoiceOver reads the page with Brasilian-
Portuguese synth
- If I have <html lang="pt-PT"> VoiceOver reads the page with
Portuguese (Portugal) synth
- If I have <html lang="pt-BR"> VoiceOver reads the page with
Brasilian-Portuguese synth

The question is: the user agent must interprete 'pt' like 'pt-PT' or
'pt-BR'? There are any standard language reason to Apple opt to do
that or is a bug?

Thanks,

I noticed that you have a .pt address. I assume that the OS looks at
the locale (Portugal) when there is no region subtag.
(I haven't checked what the relevant standards or RFCs have to say about this.)
