Hi Webaimers,
I'm trying to test a site for accessibility and was wondering what the best
method to test the WAI guidelines 6.3 "Ensure that pages are usable when
scripts, applets, or other programmatic objects are turned off or not
supported...". Is there a way to test this in Internet Explorer 6 used on a
Window XP machine? I'm sure in my old version of IE I could disable scripts
in the advanced options, but sadly I can't seem to do this with IE 6.
I'm finding lots of information about the guidelines themselves, but not
that much about how to actually test for them in practice.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
FYI, I'm using a combination of manual checks, Bobby, A-prompt, Lynx
emulator and another useful tool I found at
http://w3.lib.csufresno.edu/webacc/maxACC3.cgi#source to test, as well as
viewing elements in DreamWeaver. I'm finding that some tools are more useful
for testing certain aspects and not others.

Should be able to. Under Tools > Internet Options > Security > Custom
Level. Disable all the scripting options. Setting security level to High
may have the same effect.

Just to add to Sam's comments, I've since found a way of disabling just
scripts without changing the security setting in IE6.
Under Tools > Internet Options > Security > Internet
Select Custom level button at the bottom
Scroll down to scripting under the Active Scripting and select the radio
button 'Disable'
