I've checked the WebAim archives and scoured the web and haven't found
anything.
My questions are about ePUB, various Kindle file formats (MOBI, AZW, AZW3,
KF8), iBooks, and other eBook formats.
1) Are there any programs that check or validate a file's accessibility
on eReader files?
2) Are some eBook file formats or eReader devices are more accessible
than others?

I don't know about auto validators, but I was working on the Readium project
to make the online reader accessible for Bookshare.org last summer. When I
last tested it in October, the Benetech fork of the project was screen
reader and keyboard accessible.

In my experience, EPUB3 is usually more accessible than PDF. PDF can be
fully accessible if it is properly tagged, but this is technically
difficult to achieve at present, so it rarely happens.
Just my opinion,
Jamal

Greetings, WebAIM:
I spent about 15 minutes with Google in order to pull together the
following resource set about EPub 3. It's less "Benetech-centric"
than what has been posted so far. I'm a fan of standards, not a
specific organizational approach, so that's where I always start.
I hope many will find this collection useful.
Links are below my name. Numbering is for tracking, rather than to
denote prioritization.
If I've missed anything, I hope others will contribute.

Greetings, WebAIM:
I thought I'd post four more items on this subject of ebooks/ePub,
and then, I'll stop.
But I think these are valuable additions to what I posted the other day.
I hope those working on HTML5, CSS, etc. will especially take note of
the summary of the recent W3C workshop and help to foster standards
harmonization.

Best,
Jennifer
