Does anyone know of a 508 compliant ink-jet printer that is small enough to
be considered portable. We are looking for something that field staff can
use.

Sorry for sounding ignorant, but what is a 508 compliant printer?

Michael,

There are two things to keep in mind. The actual hardware, and the
associated software. Since you are just needing to print, these probably
only will have an on/off button, versus multiple buttons and a LCD. You
could set it up to use the normal Windows (assuming) print dialog versus
the custom GUI bloatware.

The GSA Section 508 Team has a list of VPATs, which has several printer
manufacturers: http://buyaccessible.net/VARC/. However I wouldn't be
surprised if the vendors have information on their large-scale printers --
I assume you're thinking of the sub $100 price point.
