For those preparing for the certification exams of the IAAP (International
Association of Accessibility Professionals), there is no requirement that
you take a test preparation class beforehand, but enrolling in one can
definitely improve your chances of passing the exam.

Deque is an approved IAAP certification preparation provider, offering
certification exam preparation packages for both of the IAAP exams:

- CPACC (Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies)
https://dequeuniversity.com/curriculum/courses/iaap-cpacc
<https://dequeuniversity.com/curriculum/courses/iaap-cpacc>
- WAS (Web Accessibility Specialist) https://dequeuniversity.com/
curriculum/packages/iaap-was

You can also enroll in a combined package for both exams:
https://dequeuniversity.com/curriculum/packages/iaap-certification-prep

The courses offer many practical examples, self-test quizzes, and printable
summary reference guides.

The exam window is open now for registration. Information about the exams
themselves is found on the IAAP website: http://www.
accessibilityassociation.org/certification

Karina,

I filled out an application two days ago for the WAS. I haven't heard anything. I looked at my account info today on the web and I realized that I have my work address rather than my home address on the WAS application. Since I haven't heard anything about the application, could you please tell me the status?

Thank you.

Hi Joy,

I just checked on the IAAP website and it says that it may take 3 to 5 days
for an application to be processed. I do not have any direct information
about applications myself since I also work for Deque and not for the IAAP
itself. However, I did find a contact email address and phone number that
might help. I am including them for you below.
Do screen readers support language designations for the file?

Karina,

First, I will be there at Deque tomorrow to take the exam. Thanks for your support.
Secondly, screen readers do recognize language selection. In fact, JAWS has several language options including some Arabic languages, some languages from India, Spanish, Greek, French and German.

Other screen reader do as well.
