Looking for information on programs for advanced degrees (post-bac Certificate, Master's, or PhD) in accessibility - whether it's ICT-related or the built environment. The Univ. of Salford (UK) used to have one but it doesn't seem. A university in Barcelona seems to have one (in Spanish, http://www.uic.es/en/studies-uic/architecture/postgraduate-degree-accessibility-design-all-online/presentation)

I'm open to either online programs or in-person (though I'm not sure if any of my second languages are strong enough to study in a non-English university setting).

Thanks!

What if the first question we asked was, "what is so unique about this situation that it justifies exclusion? instead of, "how much does it cost to make it accessible?

Great question!

I'm looking for a university with an online PhD from Portfolio in North
America but I think they are all in Europe or the UK? Is there a one stop
website with information on post graduate studies like this? If not, maybe
one would be helpful?

I am looking at opportunities in Europe and the UK for an online PhD from
Portfolio. Do they exist anywhere else in the world?

Cheers, Karen

Hello Gary,
You want to probably check out the Inclusive Design program at Ocad
University:
https://www.ocadu.ca/academics/graduate-studies/inclusive-design.htm
They deal with inclusive design which has accessibility as part of it. The
program is remote or in-person, and they do all kinds of projects from
making cross-sensory art to building nonvisual maps, to coding inclusive
web tools, to working with legislation, to building spaces. I personally
worked in the perceptual artifacts lab building digital nonvisual maps.
They are trying to get every student funded 100% when going through the
program and if you have some project you would like to work on they can
help you find an industry partner, or if you already have a company who is
willing to sponsor your work, then they can get matching funds right away.
I worked with ESRI, Magical Bridge, Smith-Kettlewell, and the Art Gallery
of Ontario, but the other labs and students have worked with all kinds of
companies.
The current program coordinator is:
Josh Paglione

They may still be accepting applications for the Fall.
I am currently finishing my 2nd year there, so let me know if you have any
questions.
Thanks,

Hello,
The most famous PHD program in Inclusive Design is:
https://sisweb.ucd.ie/usis/!W_HU_MENU.P_PUBLISH?p_tag=PROG&MAJR=T310

If you want to study something specific, I would look at your favorite
authors and send them an email asking about their program. Some academic
authors (Bruce Walker in the sonification space for example), run PHD labs
and accept students in a computer science degree to build sonifications.
Thanks,
