Indeed a sad day.  What some may not know is that Jim Thatcher's
accessibility tools formed the backbone of the Trusted Tester Program
run by the Office of Accessible Systems & Technology from its early
days.  Without Jim's tools, I don't know how that would have ever gotten
off the ground.

What if there was an annual Thatcher Award for Accessibility given to
the person and/or organization who did the most for accessibility that
year?  Are any of you aware of such an award under another name?

If not, wouldn't that be a nice balance against all the litigious and
adversarial accusations of inaccessibility that we are sadly part of?  I
hereby volunteer to help some accessibility nonprofit make that real.

Cheers,
Peter Shikli
