We support Talkback on Android (not a native app, but using browser on an
Android device) and are struggling with it reading our Tab Panels. I found
this link: https://a11y-guidelines.orange.com/mobile_EN/criteria-android.htm
<https://a11y-guidelines.orange.com/mobile_EN/criteria-android.html> but my
devs say this doesn't support HTML and that it's for native android
components. I haven't been able to find any other solutions. Does anyone
here have any recommendations for getting Talkback to read our Tab panels?

Thanks!

What web browser are you trying to target on Android? Chrome? Firefox? I
will do some research.

Hi Shannon,

https://www.w3.org/TR/wai-aria-practices-1.2/#tabpanel

Works fairly well with TalkBack on Chrome on Android 10. The only thing I
found was that TalkBack does not indicate how many Tabs are in the set of
tabs.

TalkBack announces the role and state of the Tabs (selected state for the
selected tab), the arrow key can be used to select a Tab when navigating to
the set of tabs with a Bluetooth keyboard.

What issues are you seeing? I can share a video, if you would like,
navigating the above example with TalkBack
