Subject: Document Signing Software

Hello,
I'm looking for accessible document signing services. Docu-Sign claims to
be accessible but when one reads their accessibility statement the process
is vague.
Does anyone know how to use Docu-Sign, or, does anyone have an alternative
service that is accessible.
It needs to be accessible at both ends. The employee creating the document
to be signed may be blind and the recipient may be as well.
Thanks for any assistance.

Hello:
I am a JAWS screen reader user and have used Docu-Sign once with success. I
had to sign something from a bank. It somehow made the document I needed to
sign accessible so that I could read it. A button to use as a signature was
also provided. I could have chosen the style of my signature.
It took me a little time to understand process, but once I did I was very
happy with it.

Hello,
Docusign is great for signing documents, but it's not accessible for a
blind user to create documents.
The best option I've found is word. If you go to the insert menu on Word
and hit enter on signature, then you can insert the signature. To sign, you
select the signature field and hit the applications menu, and there should
be an option to sign.
That's the best method I've found.
Thanks,

I recently used Docuscan, and all the pages that just needed me to confirm I read them / signed off, worked well for me with VoiceOVer on a Macintosh. However the pages where I supposed to select a radio button or entered a form field were not properly labeled. I have no idea if this is a issue with the Docusign system, or if it is possible to create accessible forms but the bank I was working with did not know how.
I believe their is a fairly inexpensive tier of their product that you could test with.

Yes, I too have had good experiences with Docu-Sign as well as bad. What I
can't figure out is what to do to implement a process so that our
organization only creates the good experiences, and not the bad!

Hello,
I have signed many documents with Docusign and my screen reader, and the
experience is great.
I have not been able to send out a document for a signature without just
placing the field at the default location.
About 3 years ago, while evaluating Docusign for our business, I asked if
they could please work on making the document sending process easier. They
sent me an email asking me to justify a business case for sending out
documents, so I said I wouldn't buy the product unless I could send out
documents. Apparently they don't want any blind customers, because they
haven't fixed the problem to my knowledge.
Thanks,

Micheal,
here is a link to some documentation I wrote on how to create accessible
docusign forms. It's a couple of years old, but still should be relevant.

hope it helps.
