Subject: Audio descriptions for foreign language videos on an English language website

Hello everyone,

I am working on an English website that will feature some video content in
Portuguese. The site needs to conform to WCAG 2.0 AA standards, so I
understand that audio descriptions are required. My question is:

For an American-hosted website, which is only in English, for an
American-headquartered, global company that plans to feature some video
content in another language (because this company has offices worldwide),
how do we handle the audio described video requirement? To me, it doesn't
make sense to have English audio descriptions for a Portuguese-language
video, unless you're bilingual in those languages. Should the audio
descriptions be in Portuguese for an English-language website? Or can the
audio description be replaced with an English translated and described text
version of the video?

Thank you in advance for your insights!

I would say make the audio description Portuguese as well, and going
beyond the minimum WCAG requirement, also provide a full transcript at
least in English?
