We tested adding the summary attribute and JAWS still ignored the table unless layout tables is turned on. The caption element does not seem to have an effect either. One interesting new note, when I just went back to verify this I notice that, for my installation of JFW10 anyway, leaving the browser and returning results in JAWS toggling layout tables back off. Oh well back to the lab - perhaps more stuff to report to Freedom.
