*REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS for Presenters and Exhibitors*
*Access, Employment, and Learning Technology Showcase*
*October 10-11, 2011*
George Mason University - Fairfax, Virginia
(Dewberry Hall, Johnson Center)
George Mason University invites speaker proposals for its 2nd annual
"Access, Employment, and Learning" Technology Showcase. Last year's
showcase welcomed over 400 participants and featured 50 presentations
and exhibitors from the local and federal government, schools and
universities, mainstream and assistive technology hardware and software
vendors, and non-profit organizations.
We are seeking proposals on the following topics:
- Assistive Technology
- Research
- Community resources supporting individuals with disabilities
- Transition for students with disabilities
- Universal Design
- Document accessibility (Accessible instructional materials,
PowerPoint, Word, and PDF Accessibility)
- Section 508/Web accessibility
- New ADA regulations and technology
- Employment resources for individuals with disabilities
- Electronic book accessibility
- Captioning/Video Description
- Distance Education
- Mobile Technologies
- Ergonomics and daily living
In addition to seeking presenters on the topics listed above, we're also
seeking exhibitors with interactive displays, technology demonstrations,
etc -- something for participants to actively learn or work with -- as
we're hoping to engage everyone in a festive event that keeps
participants actively flowing between the showcase and the presentations
for an extended period. We ask that exhibitors join us for both days.
Presenters: To be considered for presentations, please go

your proposal by June 3rd. If necessary, a second round call for
proposals will have a deadline of June 17th.
Exhibitors: To reserve exhibition space, please submit a registration

17th.
