Featuring Keynote Speaker,

*/Daniel Goldstein (Brown, Goldstein, & Levy LLP)/*

dan goldstein

/*Daniel Goldstein*/of the Baltimore law firm of Brown, Goldstein, &
Levy will be the featured speaker. He has been practicing disability
rights law for nearly twenty-five years, principally on behalf of
the National Federation of the Blind (NFB). Over the past 12 years,
he has aided NFB in devising and executing a strategy of education,
litigation, and negotiation to make mainstream technology accessible
to the blind. Through his work, websites like Target and Amazon, as
well as devices like ATMs, voting machines, and mainstream e-reading
devices like the Kindle e-book reader are now accessible to the
blind. Most recently, he secured a victory in the Ninth Circuit
assuring that blind test takers who use screen reader software as
their primary reading method are entitled to use such software in
high stakes testing. Additionally, he is representing NFB in its
fight against some higher education institutions that have adopted
the less accessible Google Apps for Education (as opposed to a more
accessible solution) as a means of providing email and collaboration
tools to students and faculty.

Thank you and we look forward to seeing you in October -
