Thanks Pratik.
I'm assuming then that if they are being ignored, there is a setting within
the screen reader that needs to be adjusted? Unfortunately I'm asking this
on behalf of someone in our finance department and I'm not able to witness
what they're experiencing at the moment, but I believe they are using NVDA.
PP: Yes. NVDA, like other screen readers, has a section in the preferences
menu that will allow the person to customize the pronunciation of different
punctuation. There are four levels of punctuations, none, some, most, and
all. One can define which punctuation is announced at each punctuation level
as well as how its pronounced.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Pratik
