Glen, I do like the Sitepoint example, and there's now an HTML
rendition near the bottom of the page. However, since my footnote
references are encapsulated inside radiobutton labels, I'm loath to
allow the focus to be moved in case some candidates are unsure of how
to get back where they came from. So I think a dialog works
beautifully in this instance. Simple is beautiful :-)
