My understanding is that Immersive Reader is likely used more by people with learning disabilities or folks with low vision who do not rely on other specific assistive technology. I know folks who use it for the text to speech functionality while others use it for color changes and font spacing, etc. So many of the other features like spelling, thesaurus, definitions, etc. outlining, are built into products like Word that there is a lot of support for users without separate assistive technology.
