They don't support Javascript at all. Links with a different target
would open in the same instance, they don't have "windows" as it is.
As to your issue, I'd add a skip intro link in the HTML, not in the
flash itself and add a textual replacement in the object tag, not open
the flash in a popup at all. Flash tunnels are 1999 design as it is, and
automatic popups will be blocked by most browsers these days. I had a
real nightmare recently getting flash accessible without a "choose
flash or HTML site" for a big client, and can say without hesitation
that Flash might be possible to be accessible in the movie itself, but
the browser support of the correct HTML is dire. Safari and Opera show
the object alternative content together with the flash movie, and most
techniques provided by Macromedia are either not validating or simply
dependent on Javascript.
