The behavior of the native HTML date picker in Firefox, where the size doesn't adjust with zoom level, is indeed problematic from an accessibility perspective. While the WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.4.4 Resize Text doesn't explicitly mention date pickers, it is generally understood that all user interface components, including form controls, should resize proportionally with the text.
The fact that the date picker's appearance is controlled by the user agent doesn't necessarily exempt it from this requirement. User agents are still expected to follow accessibility guidelines to the best of their ability.
