Query Regarding 1.4.5 Images of Text SC in Application Testing

Hi All,
I have a query regarding the 1.4.5 Images of Text SC in the application I'm
currently testing.
At the top of all pages in the application, the application name is
displayed as a heading. Visually, it looks like a heading, but it has been
implemented as an image with incorrect alt text. For example, the
application name and the text within the image is “XYZ,” but the alt text
provided is “ABC” using the alt attribute.
Should I report this issue under 1.1.1 Non-text Content and request that
the alt text be corrected to reflect the proper text (“XYZ”) in order to
pass WCAG? Or should I fail it under 1.4.5 Images of Text, suggesting that
the text be converted into actual heading text in the DOM?
Could you please clarify the appropriate failure scenario in this case?
