Hello all,
I have a question about WCAG 1.2.2.
We have archived video material for which we have transcripts available inhouse, but no properly timed subtitles. If we provide the transcripts alongside the videos on our website in sections (each covering 3–6 minutes), would that meet the minimum requirements of 1.2.2? Or does compliance require captions to be more precisely synchronized with the video?
For all our newer materials (>2015), we have proper subtitles. However, creating them for all archived content is currently beyond our budget.
Alternatively, is there an extremely cost-effective way to time transcripts to video that I might have overlooked?
Zjef
