Hi all,
We are currently working on filling out the VPAT, and I have a few queries
regarding how to report certain issues.
**1. Mapping a single issue to multiple criteria:**
Is it acceptable to fail multiple criteria for the same accessibility
issue, or should each issue be mapped to only one criterion?
I have two specific scenarios where this question arises:
**Scenario 1:**
There is a mandatory input field that is pre-filled. When the value is
removed, the field is outlined in red, but no textual error message is
displayed.
I believe this issue could be marked as a failure under both:
* **Error Identification** (since there is no descriptive error message)
* **Use of Color** (as red is the only indicator of error)
I don’t have other issues that would fail these specific criteria, so I'm
considering using this issue to mark both.
**Scenario 2:**
There is a filter button, and when a filter is applied, a checkmark appears
on the button to indicate its state.
I think this should fail:
* **Name, Role, Value** (as it relates to conveying the state of the
control)
Would this also fail under:
* **Sensory Characteristics** (since the change is only indicated visually
via the checkmark)?
Would appreciate your guidance on whether this approach is correct.
Regards,
Sumit.
