CMS modernity (was: address tag)

This is really down to the fact that there are no perfect editors out
there (the tool, not the people!). This is something I've been
exploring:

If there were a usable, accessible WYSIWYG editor that produced good
code, CMSs would be a hell of a lot better. (Or at least, they would
have the potential to be).

Our CMS doesn't have a problems outputting valid, semantic code, or
restricting editors to using valid & semantic code (i.e. no colour
pickers, only headings, paragraphs, lists etc.).
However, there are some new functions I'd like to add, e.g. within page
