Hi Robert!
I was looking this over and I have also wondered about this. I work for a
college and I spoke to the Disability Coordinator, and we are going to meet
for lunch and discuss this.
Something that I had thought of off the top of my head though would be to
create a map specifically for the consumer with disabilities, personalizing
it for them. I am not sure if it is something that is workable for your
situation though. I had always wondered what the procedure would be if a
sight-impaired student was in one of our computer labs alone and an
evacuation order was issued. Our school has always gone above and beyond
when it comes to specific routes for specific situations but this one
always made me wonder.
I will report back any ideas or procedures that we come up with.
Have a great week!

Hi Laurie,
Thank you so much for looking into it as well! I unfortunately don't
believe the county could create a secondary map, but I want to give them as
many options as possible. I had considered proposing tactile maps, but a
user would have to visit the school (perhaps by traveling along one of
these routes!) to access it. We really strive to ensure our community
members can achieve the same level of success in an equivalent timeframe,
and having to visit for the map falls short there. Could perhaps help with
emergency evacuation route maps though?
Let me know if you come upon any other potential solutions, really
appreciate your help and shared interest!
Best,
Robert

Hi All,
https://getbootstrap.com/docs/4.0/components/modal/Â
The above link has demo modal box. When user launch the modal in IE11, JAWS user still get access on background page controls using Insert + F5. Set the aria-hidden="true" but still get access on them.
Can any one help me on this?
Thanks Dinesh

Insert + F5: is that the reformat document command? That seems like an edge
case to me; I probably wouldn't worry about it. The primary consideration
is that a user can't accidentally tab away from modal content and get lost.

The Insert+f5 brings up the forms fields list dialogue which will list all of the buttons and form fields from the page.

Ah, OK. I still wouldn't worry about that. Help prevent a user from
accidentally straying, but don't worry about one wilfully escaping.

district's families. Thank you everyone for your time and expertise!
Best,
Robert
