Hi all. Has anyone else come across the new Accessibility Assistant in Office 365, replacing the older Accessibility Checker? It seems like the Assistant is missing some rules that the Checker used to flag. For example, unclear hyperlink text does not appear reviewed by the Accessibility Assistant.

In addition, I cannot submit feedback from the Accessibility Assistant. I click the “Give Feedback” button and nothing happens.

Have others seen this? Thank you,

Joseph,

Is this with the web version of Office 365 or desktop version?

I recently came across this on SharePoint pages. There was a Microsoft blog post introducing this feature:
https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/blog/spblog/introducing-the-sharepoint-pages-authoring-accessibility-assistant/4369998?utm_source=toptechtidbits&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=March%2015,%202025&utm_term=editorial

However, as far as I am aware, this hasn't replaced the Accessibility Checker available in the desktop versions of MS Office apps?

It looks like when they updated my laptop I got the newest version of the Office 365 apps, and now they are using this Accessibility Assistant which I do not like. I am using
Microsoft® Word for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2502 Build 16.0.18526.20168) 64-bit, current channel.

Hi Joseph
MS changed it from Accessibility Checker to Accessibility Assistant a few
months ago. They tweak the rules periodically. What it checks in the
desktop app is slightly different from the web version.
