It is me again!

I read over all your great comments, did more reading online and had a
question...

I was trying to group different kinds of disabilities, so that I could show
newbies what we can do to a web site that makes it better for everyone.

In the past, I was aware of these:
-Visual disabilities
-Aural disabilities
-Motor disabilities
-Cognitive disabilities

So would you use these kinds of phrases? Am I covering everything? Is there
something that should be added?

Thanks again!

Lisa

Hi Lisa,

WAI currently uses "auditory, cognitive, neurological, physical, speech, and visual" -- eg see http://www.w3.org/standards/webdesign/accessibility

In the coming weeks we will have an update to "How People with Disabilities Use the Web". For now you can access both the outdated version and the revision-in-progress from: http://www.w3.org/WAI/intro/people-use-web.php

RE: "show newbies what we can do to a web site that makes it better for everyone"

See: http://www.w3.org/WAI/bcase/Overview.html

Regards,
~Shawn

Hi Shawn,

Thanks for that...I just realized that my email was sent, I was trying to
discard it instead! Right after I wrote that in draft, I went to WAI and saw
that...That was exactly the answer to my question so the email was
redundant. Thanks for pointing that source out, in case others hadn't seen
it.

Sorry for that message being sent accidentally.

Cheers

Lisa
