Hello everyone,

I want to make sure you are all aware of an opportunity to gain a certification in evaluating and developing accessible information design and accessibility policy.

I am teaching this certificate program with the help of my friends and colleagues from the University of Illinois, namely Tim Offenstein, Keith Hays and Marc Thompson.

New Online Information Accessibility Design & Policy (IADP Professional Development Certificate at the University of Illinois)<http://online.illinois.edu/online-programs/graduate-certificates/information-accessibility-design-policy?iadp>;

Three important questions for your organization:

· Is your website design accessible?

· Are you aware of state and federal mandates governing digital accessibility?

· Is your team trained to minimize barriers and maximize access to digital information for your clients?

This fall, the College of Applied Health Sciences<http://ahs.illinois.edu/>; at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is offering a fully-online, three-course professional certificate in accessible information design and accessibility policy. The Information Accessibility Design and Policy (IADP)<http://online.illinois.edu/online-programs/graduate-certificates/information-accessibility-design-policy?iadp>; certificate is a hands-on, comprehensive set of courses that will provide knowledge and skills to the participants for the application of the principles of IT accessibility in the creation of accessible electronic information. From web developers and designers to compliance officers, anyone responsible for making information technology findable, usable and accessible for persons with disabilities can learn how to meet accessibility mandates and exceed end-user expectations. The IADP program is the only one of its kind in the U.S. and one of only a few in the world.

View a video about the IADP program<https://mediaspace.illinois.edu/media/Information+Accessibility+Design+and+Policy+%28IADP%29+Online+Certificate+Program/1_r86m6hgu>.

The IADP program will cover:

· Principles of accessible information architecture and universal design of information technologies used in educational, business, healthcare, and employment settings.

· Federal and state legal requirements for providing equal access to information technologies in order to protect the civil rights of people with disabilities.

· Information technology accessibility standards, design techniques that enable adherence to those standards, and tools that support validation and evidence of compliance to those standards.

Registration<http://online.ahs.illinois.edu/iadp/register.aspx>; is now open. Class size is limited. For more information, contact Dr. Roberto Aldunate at 217-333-2131 or = EMAIL ADDRESS REMOVED = <mailto: = EMAIL ADDRESS REMOVED = >, or go to the IADP website<http://online.illinois.edu/online-programs/graduate-certificates/information-accessibility-design-policy?iadp>;.

Hi Hadi,

Your intro reads fine to me Hadi. I've edited the main paragraph per Roberto's comments and also changed 'launching- to 'offering- so that it doesn't sound so much like this is our first effort. You should be able to copy and paste this reply.

Good luck attracting new candidates for the class!
