Some WebAIM list folks may be interested in the following event. This
would be a great time for advocacy efforts on behalf of individuals with
disabilities and accessibility efforts.
*Emerging Trends and People with Disabilities: Public Consultation*
National Council on Disabilities
Deadline: July 22, 2008
http://www.ncd.gov/newsroom/publications/2008/public_consultation.html
The National Council on Disability is gathering public input for a study
of emerging issues and trends affecting the lives of people with
disabilities. The purpose of this public consultation is to gather
input to inform NCD's assessment of the status of the nation in
achieving policies that guarantee equal opportunity for all individuals
with disabilities, and empower individuals with disabilities to achieve
economic self-sufficiency, independent living, and inclusion and
integration into all aspects of society. Your input will be used in the
development of recommendations including, but not limited to,
recommendations for changes in legislation, regulations, policies, or
programs, as appropriate. NCD seeks input from individuals with
disabilities, organizations representing a broad range of individuals
with disabilities, and agencies interested in or serving individuals
with disabilities.
Please visit the NCD website above for comment submission details.
