I am aware that the following groups must comply with Section 508
(unless they can prove it would cause an "undue burden"): Federal
departments or agencies, anyone doing contract work for a Federal
department or agency, and states that receive money from the Assistive
Technology Act of 1998. This letter on the RESNA site goes into further
detail about it:

However, large corporations have also been pushing to create Section
508 compliant products. It can be a big selling point, even for groups
that are not required to buy compliant products.
