I absolutely agree. My comments were in relation to assistive
technology support. While there's little excuse for developers using
layout tables, assistive technology must "deal with" this for some
time to come. This thread is pointing out that JAWS has very poor
behavior in determining data vs. layout tables and that is very
concerning. If I had it my way, all layout tables would disappear and
this would all be a non-issue.
