Has anybody got references to reputable websites which DO NOT make W3C
compliant statements (particularly in there footer), but do in fact take
great pride in making their websites accessible? Or better yet, found
equally reputable sources that explain this better.



I ask, because more and more clients are asking for W3C compliance, when I
personally try to explain that it is just a reference guide (and a quickly
dating one at that) and that it should be used as a point of reference,
focusing more importantly on the bigger picture of accessibility and legal
expectations. For our UK based clients, this is the Equality Act 2010.



Thus far, I have the following as good examples of accessible websites:
