Claudia,
1.4.8 encompasses 1.4.4, so while Flash33 covers 1.4.8 by explicit mention in the technique it should also reference 1.4.4. I expect that this will be addressed in the next round.

My blog post was intended to highlight what you needed to know to meet AA, so Flash33 was used for 1.4.4.

Thanks,

Subject: [WebAIM] Adobe Flash and WCAG 2.0 FLASH33 technique question

In the Oct 10, 2010 Adobe Accessibility blog post "Meeting WCAG 2.0 with Flash, Andrew Kirkpatrick did a nice job summarizing WCAG 2.0 Flash techniques. Here's a link to the blog posting, in case you haven't seen it: http://blogs.adobe.com/accessibility/2010/10/meeting-wcag-2-0-with-flash.html

I have a question related to FLASH33: Using relative values for Flash object dimensions. In the WCAG 2.0 guidelines, FLASH33 technique is associated with Level AAA Success Criterion 1.4.8 (Visual Presentation). In Andrew's blog post, FLASH33 technique is associated with Level AA Success Criterion 1.4.4 (Resize Text).

Can anyone shed any light on this discrepancy? Has FLASH33 been upgraded to a Level AA technique and WCAG 2.0 guidelines just haven't been updated?

Thanks for any help on this one.

Claudia
