Dear listers
I have mentioned that I will give a lecture on accessibility for
computer science students at the University of Reykjavik in a few
weeks.
I am working on the Powerpoint prsentation, and it is going well. I'll
be happy to translate it to English, and donate it to webAIM,if there
is interest, though it will touch on other accessibility interfaces
such as MSAA/UIA (though briefly).
Part of the work isto create 10 or so multiple choice or short answer
questions relating to the material I present.
I want to make them interesting, have thought about requiring the
students to download a color contrast analyzer, like Juicy Studio, and
may be Firebug, and give some questions on accessibility (may be how
many key strokes will it take to get to the main topic of page X,
where the main topic is a heading level one, or has a skip to link at
the top, vs a page that has no such thing and would require pressing
the arrow key 60 times).
Has anyone created a list of questions for web accessibility, somethig
that will impress sighted students and really hit home the importance
of good web design, something that shows them what it can really do
for those who need it?
Feel free to contact me on or off-list, this could create good
discussion as well.
Thanks as always for any feedback, this list is a treasure trove for
those who are trying to spread the word. :)
