The first example works great on OS X/VoiceOver and the second example works fine too but has an annoying announcement each time you arrow down saying "Bottom of document".
They both work well on iOS/VoiceOver the only strange thing is each time you activate a selection VO reads the formatting info saying "Verdana, 11point".
