Hi Everyone,
I have been doing double duty as a web developer and Masters student over
the last three years. I now know what the word tired really means!
I am conducting a research study to find out how accessible and usable
Canadian archival websites are for users with and without disabilities.
Even though I am focusing on Canadian archives, the results will also be
applicable to archives, libraries, historical societies, etc. all over the
world.
The goal of the study is to inform archivists about the possible barriers
on their websites, and educate them on how to make their websites more
accessible and usable for all viewers. I am particularly interested in
increasing awareness about website accessibility in archival environments.
I need more volunteer website testers!
I am looking for volunteers who self identify as either disabled or
non-disabled. Volunteers will remain anonymous in the study results, and
they can choose to test all 5 websites or stop at any time. Volunteers can
be located anywhere in the world, so as long as they can read English then
they can take part in this study.
If you, or anyone you know (friends, family, colleagues, etc.), would be
interested in volunteering please email me. Also feel free to pass this
email along to others and to any disability related organizations and
listservs as well. I am trying to get as many testers as possible, and
would love to get testers from places other than Canada!
I have put all the information on my website in both HTML and PDF (it
should be fully accessible) formats:

Oh and if you find any accessibility issues with the website or PDF do let
me know. I spend hours on these things, but sometimes I goof!
Any help you can provide is much appreciated.
Cheers
Lisa
