As you might have seen previously on the email list, I am working on a new
audio reCAPTCHA that is both easier for the visually impaired to solve and
helps create captions for videos online for the hearing impaired.
I finished my Google Science Fair project, which outlines in detail my
methodology, algorithms and results. Take a look at the entire project
here<http://goo.gl/02bHG>
.
To summarize my results, based on my testing:
- My new system is solved between *34.2 and 86.9 seconds **faster* than
the current audio reCAPTCHA
- Captions of the online video from the speech recognition were *17.2%
accurate*, but my new system's captions were *90.4% accurate*, as
measured by comparison to the official, manually-created captions.
I just wanted to share these results with you guys, and get any feedback
from you on what next steps or improvements could be made.
Thanks,
~Samir
