We are looking for new RAs to join our team in Dundee, Scotland.

SiDE Research Assistant. Fixed term - 12 months
For this position, we are interested in researchers with skills and interests in HCI who will work towards the creation of digital technologies that will benefit older or disabled users. The ability to use new technologies is currently at the heart of social inclusion, with those excluded being left of out of many work, entertainment, communication, healthcare and social benefits. To ensure that emerging technologies are fully accessible to older adults and to disabled individuals, we seek to ensure that the interfaces and access methods to systems and services are appropriate for everyone. This research brings together a multidisciplinary team, including collaborations with SiDE Hub team members at Newcastle University.
Examples of anticipated projects include working with major media organizations on improving access technologies for people with hearing and vision loss; large scale collection of user needs for interacting with new digital media, a needs assessments for issues affecting the built environment of care homes, and determination of methods of facilitating digital media use by older adults for entertainment (e.g., television, radio).
