Indeed, to me that is one of the problems with ARIA at the moment - a
lot of the advice centers on (re)implementing the equivalent keyboard
controls (using keydown/keyup/keypress listeners), but this falls short
in many cases when using AT and touch (the same problem also happens
when using NVDA or JAWS on a touchscreen laptop/two-in-one device when
using the touch interface/gestures).
