Well, this is a relative question. Movement since what?

In general, Sharepoint 2013 is more accessible than 2010. However, there are lots of variables, how it is set up, whether or not it is hosted, 365, etc. What you implement and use, what you do on your pages, etc. Plus, I think what some people think of as accessibility issues, may in fact be usability issues. Sharepoint tends to offer you endless options, and wave each in front of you at every opportunity. Some people, screen reader users, in particular tend to find this confusing, because the UI is so unfamiliar!

There is one major accessibility system for Sharepoint, Discover 508. When it works, it simplifies everything, and works very well. However, it is expensive, and it has to be taught, by its developers how to handle each kind of control it encounters. So, if it knows about the things you are using, it is wonderful, and if it doesn't, you are sunk.

Any movement on MS SharePoint being more accessible?

We don't do any support with it for our clients so I'm out of the SharePoint loop. But many of our government clients are being pushed to deploy it.

Any workarounds?

Any additional plug-ins that help accessibility?

Other than the usual PR blurb, is there any real commitment from Microsoft to make it fully accessible?
