Hi Carolyn,

As a Senior SME at Deque, I will of course echo the suggestion to
investigate our DequeU content as a great starting point, especially if you
are preparing for the IAAP exam.

As an active participant at the W3C, I'll also point out that the W3C WCAG
requirements, and understanding those requirements will be hugely
beneficial, as the WCAG standard is either the actual mandated requirement
within commercial and/or non-US-based organizations (i.e. Canada, the UK,
the EU, etc.), or will be heavily if not directly referenced in the Section
508 refresh activity underway. A great starting point at the W3C is here:
https://www.w3.org/WAI/gettingstarted/tips/. A deeper dive can also be
started here: https://www.w3.org/WAI/gettingstarted/Overview.html

Finally, given that you are working in higher-ed, you may also want to
investigate the Educause IT Accessibility Constituent Group at:
http://www.educause.edu/discuss/constituent-groups-about-information-systems-and-services/it-accessibility-constituent-group
for peer support and collaboration.
