Subject: [WebAIM] IAAP certified Web Accessibility Specialist exam (and CPACC)

The exam window is open to take the IAAP (International Association of Web Accessibility Professionals) certification exams:

- Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC), and
- Web Accessibility Specialist (WAS)

You can take either exam on its own, or both. If you pass both exams, you receive a combined credential of Certified Professional in Web Accessibility (CPWA).

The exam window is September 11 - October 31, 2017. You must register a minimum of 5 days in advance, so plan accordingly.

Why certify?

- Some employers are already listing IAAP certification as a desired
qualification for accessibility-related jobs
- Certification allows you to stand apart from other people who may not
be as qualified.
- The act of studying for certification gives you an opportunity to
sharpen your own knowledge and skills
- Having a critical mass of certified professionals raises the profile
of the whole profession, giving it added legitimacy in the eyes of some
employers who may not be as tuned in to accessibility as we would want them
to be.
