I am not aware of any data on this. I would say though, that it is my belief that most JAWS users do not change their default settings, so they tend to use it as JAWS sets it. I think Auto is the default -- but not positive.

I tend to use semi-auto because I like the control, but I don't think I am a typical user.

Does anyone have a sense of what mode most JAWS users prefer: Manual Forms Mode, Auto Forms Mode, or Semi-Auto Forms mode? I had heard a while back from one JAWS user that experienced users of the software preferred Manual, but that was just one person and was quite a while ago, so I wonder if that is really true, and if it may have changed as sites increasingly use ARIA composite widgets. Any data on this anywhere?
